My son grunts at about 3 am every night and wakes himself up and starts crying. I have tried doing the bicyle thing with his legs, rub his tummy, I've given him gas drops and nothing is working! He would totaly sleep through the night if he didn't wake up from gas. Does anyone else have this issue? Any other ideas? I'm getting tired, and frustrated.
My baby's doctor said to try laying her on her stomach with her little legs tucked up under her so that her bottom is risen into the air. She said this position will help her pass the gas. She, also, informed me not to leave her on her stomach unattended. I haven't had to try this yet so not sure if it will really work or not but it is worth a try.
If your breastfeeding try and make sure your not eating gassy foods like broccoli or lettuce before you feed baby. If not, you might try giving your baby the gas medicine before he goes to bed to head off the problem.
Also, I`d talk to my peditrician to make sure it`s not mild colic or something, especially if it`s happening at the same time every night :0 Hope this helps ~Brandi
my son has bad gas and has since he was born. when he was smaller i started him on the gas drops and i give him a dose mixed in with every bottle. when he has a hard time getting it out i found that laying him face down in my lap with his stomach on my leg and gently patting his back helped him out a lot plus it helps him work out his back and neck muscles.
