Hi. Since about a month ago, my 5 month old will not sleep! We wakes up sometimes 8 times a night. He also takes only 45 minutes naps during the day and is extremely overtired...as are we! He was a great sleeper up until 4 months. We have a routine, but it seems to just be getting worse. Any suggestions? I really don't believe in CIO. Thanks!
AW! Hes probobly teething, or going through a growth spurt, try to feed him right before bed time- feed him a big bottle, and ounce or 2 more than usual, and put some white noise on. I do that with my son and it knocks him out
Try a swing. That works wonders for my 3 month old. She's teething early, so she gets frustrated sometimes, and popping her in a swing on a low speed helps her get to sleep.
It`s all about what you do when you go in to calm baby...I had the same problem with my 7 month old son. I was breastfeeding and so to calm him down I would feed him,not a good idea. My pediatrician recommended that when my husband & I went in to calm the baby not to turn on any lights, no talking, and do not pick up. Try to rub baby`s back or tummy to comfort and try to help baby get back to sleep. However, it might take a while for this to work, but it does work. Try not to rely on props like swings, or yourslef like me because they only work for so long :) Hope this helps ~Brandi
