Yes it's fun, but Hide-and-Seek can also teach valuable skills.

Description:

One of the most enduring games of discovery is hide-and-seek. It stimulates your child's curiosity while helping to ease separation anxiety. Finding you gives your toddler quite a sense of accomplishment, and the game is a great social activity because it involves taking turns.

Step by Step:
  • To play, hide yourself and call out, "I'm hiding. Come find me."
  • Allow your child to listen for the direction of your voice.
  • If he can't locate you, call out again.
  • Let your child find you and act surprised at his sleuthing skills.
  • Now give your child a chance to hide and call out to you.
  • Warn children to stay out of closets, or confined spaces where they may suffocate.
