1. Let your child paint the pasta tubes using different colors.
   
2. Alternatively, you can soak the pasta in a bowl of water tinted with food coloring. (You can also buy tinted pasta in some educational or school supply stores, or find tri-colored pasta in many supermarkets).
   
3. Allow the paint or dye to dry.
   
4. String the pasta on the yarn or string in a pattern.
   
5. Tie ends together.

Assorted tubular pasta
Paintbrushes
Acrylic paints in assorted colors
Water
Colored dyes (optional)
30-inch length of yarn or string
Paper towels
