Celebrate the historic holiday of Labor Day by commemorating the huge contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our nation. Talk about some of the country's early laborers such as John Henry and sing songs like "I've Been Working on the Railroad".
Step by Step:
"When I Grow Up, I Want To Be a..."
| 1. | Look at books and magazines, ask your child to pick out pictures of workers. |
| 2. | Make a collage of doctors, fire fighters, chefs, construction workers, and so on. |
3. | Put out lots of dress-up clothes. |
| 4. | Set up a play store register, items for a restaurant, and other objects such as doctor kits and teacher supplies that will inspire dramatic play. |
