Special childhood memories will be created by family picnics.

Description:
Your picnic can be as simple or as festive as you like - all that matters to children is that they get to eat outdoors.

One of the great warm-weather pleasures, picnics can take place anytime and anywhere, from the lawn in front of the library or a favorite museum to a mountaintop, beach or even your own backyard!

Step by Step:
Problem-Free Picnic

  1. Pick a site that is comfortable with nearby restroom facilities if possible, and some shelter from the sun.
  2. A theme helps everyone get involved: a beach-party picnic, a safari picnic, or an All American picnic.
  3. The most difficult thing about having a picnic away from home is remembering everything. Make a list of everything you'll need.
  4. Essentials include sunscreen, insect repellent and wet wipes or antibacterial lotion to clean your hands before lunch.
  5. Keep kids entertained with lawn bowling, face painting, scavenger hunts, relay races or a balloon toss.
  6. Definitely bring a camera so you can put together a summer scrapbook.
