Some of the strangest animals in the world live 'down under.'
Description:
Australia is known as the Land Down Under, which has many animals that are unique only to Australia. The kangaroo, koala, wallaby, and platypus are just some of these unusual critters. You can teach your children about some of these amazing animals through pictures, books, and playacting.
Step by Step:
Go on the internet or to the local library to find books, videos and pictures of these animals.
Share these books, videos, and pictures with your child.
Pretend with your child that you are a mother kangaroo and her joey and hop through the savannah of your living room or pretend you are a mama koala and her back-riding baby eating eucalyptus leaves.
If you are lucky enough to live close to a zoo that has these animals, plan a trip to see them on display.
Materials:
Books, videos, pictures from the library
