In Germany and Holland, Christmas is called St. Nicholas Day, and is celebrated on December 6. The two countries share similar legends. If you leave your boots or shoes outside the night before, St. Nicholas fills them with treats. Share this custom with a needy child in your area. What better way to teach your child about giving and learning to appreciate the gifts he has in his life.

Step by Step:

1.	Buy a new pair of shoes of find a pair that no longer fits your child.
2.	Take tissue paper and line the inside of the shoes.
3.	Gather up treats such as candy or small useful items to fill the shoes.
4.	Make a card and donate the shoes to a local children's charity.
5.	Make this an annual holiday tradition.
