The summer is here, and that means hot, hot sunshine. The best way to have fun in the hot sunshine is to be well protected so that you don't sunburn.

Here is a great way to have some fun and create a wonderful sun umbrella for some extra sun protection.

Step by Step:

1. Take a solid light colored beach umbrella and prop it open outside on a flat surface with plenty of room around it.
2. Set out some brushes and sponges along with various colors of fabric paint.
3. You and your child can either decide on a theme for the umbrella design or just have a free-for-all with the paint.
4. Your child will enjoy using the various tools at hand to paint the umbrella. Encourage that he or she use their brushes, sponges, and hands to apply color.
5. Once the umbrella is complete, let it dry completely in sunny spot before folding it up.

On your next trip to the beach your family will have the most unique umbrella in the crowd.
